Digital Asset Management Migration & Web Platform Alignment

Scope

Enterprise-wide DAM migration

Tools Used

ThirdLight Chorus, Acquia DAM

Impact

Zero disruption to live operations

Project Overview

This project involved migrating digital assets from ThirdLight Chorus to Acquia Digital Asset Management, while ensuring seamless continuity across the corporate website and ecommerce platform. The initiative focused on improving asset governance, scalability, and long-term operational efficiency.

Challenge

The existing asset management system was limiting scalability and operational control:

  • Fragmented asset storage and inconsistent metadata
  • Manual image management across web and ecommerce platforms
  • Risk of broken URLs and SEO degradation during migration
  • Limited governance over asset usage and updates

Solution

I planned and executed a structured DAM migration strategy:

  • Migrated assets from ThirdLight Chorus to Acquia DAM
  • Mapped and preserved existing image URLs to prevent SEO loss
  • Updated asset references across corporate and ecommerce platforms
  • Established standardized metadata and asset governance rules
  • Coordinated cross-functional testing and validation

Results & Impact

  • Zero disruption to live website and ecommerce functionality
  • Improved asset discoverability and reuse
  • Reduced manual asset management effort
  • Stronger governance and long-term scalability

Key Learnings

DAM migrations are as much about governance as technology. Success depended on disciplined planning, cross-team coordination, and attention to downstream dependencies.
